Northrop Grumman is seeking a Financial Analyst (Level 2) or Principal Financial Analyst (Level 3) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in Sterling, VA. This position may be staffed as a Hybrid role (require being on-site at least three days a week) This position offers the 9/80 schedule.

What You'll Get to Do

The Financial Analyst (FA) will interface with the program managers, cost account managers (CAMs) and business managers to provide financial support and analysis to meet program requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in management of program financials, including: financial and cost forecasting, funding profiles, reporting and variance analysis

  • Setting up cost control accounts and incorporate changes into the cost management system to maintain cost and schedule baselines

  • Possess the ability to prepare and provide weekly/monthly analytical reports to support cost variance/trend analysis

  • Assist in preparing monthly Earned Value metrics for internal/external meetings

  • Develop and review estimates at Complete (EACs)

  • Assisting in preparing for internal and external audits

  • Develop and maintain program artifacts and documentation

  • Setting up, prepare and follow up with all required financial reports

  • Effectively communicating with leadership regarding financial status, metrics and deliverables.

  • Support the development of presentations for, and occasionally brief to, Business Unit/Division/Sector leadership

  • Participating in knowledge transfer and best practices sharing with peers

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications (for Level 2):

  • Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience in cost planning, business, finance, budgeting and/or similar industry related fields or a Master's degree with 1+ years of experience in cost planning, business, finance, budgeting and/or similar industry related fields

Basic Qualifications (for Level 3):

  • Bachelor's degree with 6 years of experience in cost planning, business, finance, budgeting and/or similar industry related fields or a Master's degree with 4 years of experience in cost planning, business, finance, budgeting and/or similar industry related fields

Basic Qualifications for BOTH levels:

  • Experience with MS Office including Excel (with Macros, Pivot tables and VLOOKUP) and PowerPoint

  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance. US Citizenship is a prerequisite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CostPoint

  • Experience successfully supporting a monthly reporting & financial rhythm

  • Dynamic self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to function independently

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills; ability to make recommendations and provide guidance to effectively drive projects to completion

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple activities concurrently, able to quickly adapt to multiple demands, shifting priorities, and rapid changes

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to use them in informing and presenting to all levels of management

Salary Range: $72,100 - $108,100

Salary Range 2: $88,700 - $133,100

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
