Job Description

Nightwing is seeking candidates in systems or electrical engineering specializing in system integration and an emphasis on RF communications. This position is based on site in the Sterling, Virginia area.

This position is with Nightwing (nightwing.us) and the successful candidate will act as a member of a small integration and test team that works closely with a multi-discipline engineering team and customers that provide support to field operations, maintenance, and deployment of RF Communication systems. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing integration and test of communications equipment; performing technical analysis and providing recommendations on technologies and industry trending; responding directly to customer directed requirements; generating technical documentation including system architectures, test plans and procedures, and test reports; and providing training to mission partners on the theory and operation of RF communication systems and technologies.

Clearance Requirement: Active TS clearance

Required Skills:

Experience in one or more of the following: RF theory, wireless/SIGINT technologies, microwave principles and system/subsystem-level analysis methodologies

Working knowledge of the radio frequency spectrum and modern communication infrastructures to include signal structures, propagation, modulation types, data rates, multiplexing/demultiplexing methods

Relevant experience in HW integration and corresponding HW and SW integration

Experience with scripting and/or software development to include Python

Relevant experience working with test automation scripts, with COTS or open-source software

Demonstrated proficiency in Windows and Linux environments

Ability to write test plans, test processes and procedures for the said RF HW equipment

Ability to meet and work on the demands of a challenging ops tempo

Excellent technical and operations communications: able to articulate intent, frame requirements, set priorities, develop practical methods, and align resources to meet goals

Desired Skills:

Ability to work in a dynamic team environment, adaptable to change, and thrive in an atmosphere that requires trust, initiative, creativity, and strong problem-solving skills

Experience using standard RF and electrical test equipment to include signal generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and multi-meters

Experience using one or more of the following tools: Matlab or LabView, Visual Basic, and SQL

Required Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) with 5 years of relevant work experience.

Must be a US Citizen with an active TS clearance and be crossover eligible.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
