JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB ID: 21337 JOB TITLE: Criminal Justice/Criminology Lecturer (pool posting) UW System/TTC Title and Code: Lecturer (TL020) Position Summary: The UWSP Department of Sociology and Social Work has 11 full-time teaching faculty and staff (6 in Sociology and 5 in Social Work), approximately 165 undergraduate social work majors and approximately 150 undergraduate sociology majors in both face-to-face and online program options. The Department also houses robust minors in Criminal Justice and Substance Use and Addiction Studies. With a commitment to social justice and applied learning, the Department values quality teaching/learning experiences, and emphasizes undergraduate research, community-based practicums, and service to the region. The Department of Sociology and Social Work is currently seeking applications for our adjunct pool. We are looking for passionate individuals to teach engaging classes to our criminal justice minors. The selection of adjunct pool faculty is based on student demand and occurs on a semester-by-semester basis. As an adjunct faculty member, you will prepare and deliver class material, facilitate classroom discussions, and evaluate students\' work. You will also need to hold office hours and respond to student emails in a timely manner. We welcome applicants who can teach classes in the criminal justice minor. Ability to effectively instruct and engage with a wide range of students, encompassing diverse backgrounds, learning styles, and abilities. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching at the college or university level.
