JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB ID: 21335 JOB TITLE: Sociology Lecturer (pool posting) UW System/TTC Title and Code: Lecturer (TL020) Position Summary: The UWSP Department of Sociology and Social Work has 11 full-time teaching faculty and staff (6 in Sociology and 5 in Social Work), approximately 165 undergraduate social work majors and approximately 150 undergraduate sociology majors in both face-to-face and online program options. The Department also houses robust minors in Criminal Justice and Substance Use and Addiction Studies. With a commitment to social justice and applied learning, the Department values quality teaching/learning experiences, and emphasizes undergraduate research, community-based practicums, and service to the region. The Department of Sociology and Social Work is seeking applications for our sociology adjunct pool. We are looking for qualified individuals to teach one or more courses in sociology, including but not limited to: Introduction to Sociology, Sociological Theory, and Race and Ethnicity. The adjunct pool is used to select instructor(s) based on student demand on a semester-by-semester basis. The selected adjunct faculty will be responsible for all aspects of course preparation and delivery. Experience with college level instruction. Ability to effectively instruct and engage with a wide range of students, encompassing diverse backgrounds, learning styles, and abilities. Preferred Qualifications Earned doctorate in sociology from an accredited college or university. ABD considered. Demonstrated commitment to reflective teaching practices.
