The AWS Program Manager is an integral part of the Public Sector team, focusing on National Security and Public Safety, and is in key position to help grow our cloud computing business and make an impact in an exciting, growing market. In this program management role you will own strategic design and delivery of innovative programs that support serving our customers in the Public Sector. You will work cross-functionally with AWS teams and partners around the world to support and accelerate growth of the AWS Public Sector business. This is a unique opportunity to play an integral role in the incredibly fast-growing AWS Public Sector team while owning high visibility projects.

AWS is seeking a strong program manager who is passionate about growing a fast-paced international business, a self-starter who enjoys shaping their own role and team. The ideal candidate is experienced in driving broad scale, programmatic efforts that impact global results. S/he will have demonstrated strong project, product and program management and marketing experience and the proven ability to learn new technologies quickly.

Key job responsibilities

Define, build, and manage new Public Sector Programs.

Work closely and communicate effectively with customers, partners, AWS sales, and AWS HQ teams around the world using a variety of mediums

Drive program implementation with partner managers (internal) and partners (external); proactively communicate with senior and executive level stakeholders

Own customer relationships to drive government transformation programs.

Work across sales regions to understand functional and technical requirements to ensure the successful delivery of the program(s)

Develop and track key performance metrics utilizing Salesforce.com, Microsoft Excel, and other internal Amazon systems

Identify opportunities to improve our internal tools and processes, including driving automation of repeatable work, and increasing overall team efficiency

The role is based in Stockholm and might require occasional travel within and outside of Sweden.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or related work experience

• Demonstrable experience as a program manager working in public sector, governmental owned companies or supporting public sector customers (e.g., government)

• Proven enterprise technology experience in, partner program development, consulting, or vendor management designing and implementing high value, complex, customer-facing programs

• Experience of hands on working with enterprise software applications such as SalesForce.com

• Willingness to undergo relevant security vetting

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong writing and presentation skills, and the ability to articulate complex concepts to cross functional audiences and develop strong written material for communication to external stakeholders

• Strong organizational skills and attention-to-detail with the ability to multi-task and priorities well in a fast paced, dynamic work environment

• Solid understanding of Cloud computing technology and a utility pricing model

• Entrepreneurial, self-starter that works independently and in teams
