Aston Carter Billing Specialist in Stockton, California

Position: Medical Billing Specialist

We are looking for a Billing Specialist to join the team! The Billing Specialist assists in maintaining the billing systems and reports to the Revenue Cycle Director.

Logistics:

On-site role in Stockton, CA

9 Months Contract-to-Hire

$23-24/hr.

Responsibilities:

  • Verifies claim status and appeal to insurance companies when needed.

  • Verifies member eligibility through web portal or by contacting the insurance companies directly.

  • Handles incoming patient and insurance calls.

  • Processes insurance claims and patient statements in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and/or 1 year of billing experience.

  • Billing certificate is highly preferred

  • Strong 10-key

  • Ability to type 35 WPM

  • Knowledge of computerized medical or dental billing systems.

  • Preference given to candidates that are bilingual in Spanish & English

  • Knowledge and experience utilizing medical terminology, ICD-10, HCPCS and CPT codes
