Robert Half Senior Procurement Specialist in Stockton, California

Description We are in search of a Procurement Specialist for our non-profit organization based in Stockton, California. This role primarily revolves around identifying and evaluating goods and services, negotiating purchase terms, and maintaining relationships with vendors. As part of our team, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of coordinating with vendors, managing inventory, and serving as a liaison between staff and suppliers.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough research to identify and evaluate the price, quality, and availability of goods and services.

• Negotiate purchase and renewal terms, prices, and indemnification language with vendors or service providers.

• Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, employees, and the community.

• Coordinate demonstrations with vendors related to materials, products, and services.

• Review, identify and obtain certificates of insurance and coordinate with the insurance carrier as needed.

• Analyze purchase requisitions to determine appropriate buying method considering competitive and sole source regulations.

• Assist in the development of credit applications, contractual documents, public works contracts, formal bids, requests for quotations, and proposals.

• Manage and audit inventory, generate reports related to asset management.

• Input procurement data into spreadsheets and databases; generate reports, computerized records, and files related to procurement and contract functions.

• Train and communicate procurement and contracts policies and procedures to users of the financial system.

Skills required:

• Experience in managing contracts and working with government contracts.

• Knowledge of public works and public sector organizations.

• Familiarity with government procurement processes and bidding processes.

• Experience in contract negotiation.

• Proficiency in managing approved requisitions.

• Data entry skills. Requirements

• Demonstrated experience of at least two years in the field of procurement, preferably in a non-profit setting

• Proficiency in managing contracts and understanding government contracts

• Experience in public works and working with public sector organizations

• Familiarity with government procurement processes

• Knowledge of bidding processes and contract negotiation techniques

• Ability to handle approved requisitions and perform data entry tasks

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
