Senior Electrical Designer
Spark Power, a trusted partner in energy in North America, is looking for a looking for a Senior Electrical Designer to join our team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for developing electrical engineering packages for construction projects in the utilities, renewables, large commercial and industrial sectors
What will you do as the Senior Electrical Designer
Developing and preparing drawing packages used for permitting and construction including but not limited to RFPs, ESA packages, Issued for Construction (IFC) and As-Builts
Verify design drawings to conform to specification, standards, code, and design data
Provide oversight on CAD deliverable to maintain and improve high quality standards set by Spark Power
Generate Single Line Diagram on AutoCAD using site data gathered by others
Work as part of the engineering team in the execution of large commercial, industrial, utility-scale ground-mount solar, and battery storage design-build projects
Create engineering simulations
Provide guidance and mentorship to new CAD users in the engineering group
Adhere to drafting standards as required by clients
Create engineering simulations for pole line design using SpidaCALC software to create pole line design packages
Create Design models on EasyPower or ETAP as required
Identify conflicts, problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.
Assist in work order management, scheduling and invoicing.

Do you have the Spark? Here's what we're looking for:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Architectural science or three-year college diploma in design-oriented program
5 years of direct Electrical design experience
Strong AutoCAD Skills
Working experience designing and drafting different phases of Engineering Projects; from early stages up to Detailed Engineering
Working experience developing Construction Work Packages
Working experience with Drawing Mark-ups
Experience in engineering simulations or pole line design will be considered an asset
