Summary

The Network Administrator is responsible for provisioning, configuring, operating, supporting and maintaining the network, server, storage, backup and application infrastructures to ensure systems are secure, reliable, available, and performing optimally. This role will be proactively monitoring the network and server infrastructure as well as responding to alerts and handling tickets/requests in order to resolve issues in respect to SLAs. You will also be contributing to the ongoing growth, upgrade and improvement of the IT department. This position participates in after-hours support and will be required to perform maintenance tasks at times that are least impactful to customers and employees.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install, upgrade and support network hardware, firmware and related applications

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, connectivity and software issues

  • Implement and maintain security measures, including firewall policies and intrusion detection systems.

  • Provide tier 2 and 3+ support on system issues

  • Acts as backup support for other administrators

  • Communicate technical information, both verbal and written to a wide range of end-users

  • Research and propose initiatives for continual IT improvement

  • Assist with managing Microsoft 365 and Entra ID

  • Manage users, groups and group policy in Active Directory

  • Maintain and monitor phone systems (Teams, SBC)

  • Manage and validate hardware configuration backups

  • Monitor data center performance and availability

  • Develop and maintain network hardware configuration and specification standards

  • Create and update documentation of processes, procedures and policies

  • Participate in the after-hours support

    Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Network Administrator or in a similar role.

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience installing and supporting enterprise networks

  • Proficiency in network protocols, services, and standards (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).

  • Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools.

  • Flexibility to perform maintenance cycles outside of normal business hours

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

  • Strong customer service skills; able to translate business needs into solutions

    Recommended Qualifications :

  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or Microsoft MCSE are preferred.

  • Degree in an Information Technology related field or equivalent experience

  • 4+ years of network administration experience

  • Experience with Fortinet hardware, MFA, SD-WAN, RADIUS, ZTNA, Windows Server, SQL databases, Linux and patch management
