Senior Procurement Manager U.S. The Senior Procurement Manager develops, communicates, and executes strategic plans to meet key business objectives for raw material and indirect materials and services purchasing, provides input to procurement staffing and succession planning, and drives the continuous improvement of procurement policies and procedures. Provides direction to the U.S. organization procurement and supports transfer and sharing of best procurement practices across the globe. Responsibilities Manages multiple procurement projects of large scope and drives commodity managers and procurement specialists towards strategy and cost savings opportunities aimed at achieving strategic business objectives. Actively coaches, others, and transfers knowledge to targeted talent. Defines, plans, and executes multiple programs of global strategic business impact through establishing and implementing appropriate KPI's. Mentors and coaches others within the organization regarding deep subject matter. Recognized initiator and creator of policy and procedure. Generator of new strategic initiatives leading to business growth and cost savings. Leverage expertise to analyze initiatives and opportunities identified by internal and external teams. Partners with Quality to drive accurate and up-to-date material specifications. Conducts supplier visits to evaluate performance, develop suppliers, and maintain constructive business relationships. Leads supplier qualification efforts across functions. Partners with Engineering and Operations to drive accurate and up-to-date scope of work for capital projects as well as services. Conducts market analysis and builds industry network to provide intelligence and insights to the business. Manages supplier relationships, which includes selecting and evaluating suppliers, establishing contracts and pricing, supplier scorecards, and monitoring supplier performance. Ensures availability of materials supply from suppliers; establishes dual sourcing strategies for key commodities where opportunity exists. Acknowledged expert in broad procurement areas, widely used as a procurement consultant within organization; decisions and recommendations are recognized as authoritative. Use competitor and market research to inform potential initiatives, communicate analysis, and facilitate feedback from cross-functional teams. Proactively identifies opportunities and demonstrates a bias towards action in response to solving supply issues as they occur. Knowledgeable about current and future material commodities and market trends as well as continuously learns about the business requirements. Embraces companies core values and beliefs and employs them on a daily basis in interactions within and outside the organization.
