The Opportunity The US Natural Gas Pipeline General Plant Maintenance Capital (GPMC) Facilities Projects Engineering Execution team has a career opportunity available for an experienced and enthusiastic Engineer. Reporting to the Manager, this position is responsible for providing engineering analysis and support to the US Natural Gas Pipeline sustainability and natural gas maintenance projects and their stakeholders. The engineer will review compression and gas measurement supporting systems and equipment drawings, evaluate contractor design packages, interface with contracted Engineering design firms, trigger material procurement, provide construction technical support and create or review guidance documentation, standards, specifications, processes, procedures or tools used for the execution of Engineering Work. Relevant experience with compression and measurement facilities balance of plant systems, FERC 49 CFR 192 and gas storage is highly desirable. Additional knowledge on large Compression Units (turbines and/or reciprocating), Gas Meters, Remote Terminal Units (RTU), Gas Chromatographs (GC), Gas Analyzers, power distribution systems and industrial automation systems is beneficial. What you'll do Follow and ensure compliance with TC Energy's Practice of Engineering (POE) in all assigned work Act in the best interest of TC Energy by interacting with internal technical groups and external engineering firms to evaluate and approve design packages Provide innovative engineering solutions to solve emergent technical issues Responsible for the engineering work associated to maintenance projects in natural gas facilities, i.e. compressor stations, meter stations, storage fields, etc. Gather maintenance project ideas technical data in early stages of development to determine the best engineering approach for their implementation Schedule internal and third-party engineering resources to support assigned projects Compile data associated to bidding documentation for the selection of third-party engineering firms, including the definition of the Engineering Deliverables tied to varied project types Review third party engineering bid documents and proposals for contract awarding Manage project specific engineering contracts including periodic interface and oversight of hired Engineering Service Providers (ESPs) Schedule design reviews, ensure proper stakeholder engagement during the design process and establish direction for the project overall design product Participate in project design and HAZOP reviews Identify equipment design requirements and review equipment layouts and installation Review station's ancillary systems performance to ensure operational reliability Review of third-party engineering firm design calculations, equipment vendor drawings, and material lists Sizing verification and purchase specification for heaters, filtering systems, coolers, meters, compressors, dryers, regulators, valves, silencers, and other ancillary equipment tied to gas, water and oil service fluids Trigger material procurement process for all items to be purchased by the company Review project requisitions against company standards and specifications as applicable to project scope Perform quality assurance of construction drawings for the installation of subject electrical systems Provide technical support throughout construction activities, including site visits and timely RFI responses Support the proj
