Posting Close Date:September 25, 2024 The Opportunity Our Construction Services group is looking to add a Heavy Equipment Operator to the Dig Team, based in Sugar Grove, OH. Reporting to the Construction Services Team Lead, this position is part of an internal construction crew completing pipeline integrity activities such as recoats, reinforcement sleeves, cutouts, wraps, etc. in TC's operational footprint. Typical construction season is March thru November with training and shop work taking place in winter months. This position requires frequent travel (75%) in support of pipeline integrity activities. This position is overtime eligible and will require extended work hours. Minimum working schedule will be 10-hour days, Monday thru Thursday. The schedule for this position is three weeks on and one week off (ROW rotation) with 10-hour days, Monday thru Thursday. This position is overtime eligible and will require extended work hours. What you'll do Operate various construction equipment while operating near in and out of service pipelines Order oversized haul permits Transport equipment and material Assist with stocking and ordering various project consumables Responsible to oversee equipment certification logs and ensure compliance Assist with project documentation Assist other crew members with repair activities Assist crew on constructability reviews, safety aspects, and compliance for projects Assist on information gathering for quotations and other data as needed Ability to obtain Operator Qualifications as required for specific tasks assigned Driving a motor vehicle is an essential job function of this position Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED 5 years of experience operating equipment (forklift, dozer, excavator, etc.) Valid CDL license Demonstrated ability understand of Company practices and procedures and apply them to a site-specific procedure Experience working effectively in a construction environment while acting independently in the execution of pipeline maintenance Ability to safely and effectively operate powered tools such as drills, grinders, torches, etc. Ability to perform physically demanding mechanical duties as required Preferred Qualifications Completion of a 2-3 year vocational / technical training program Pipeline construction industry experience Computer proficiency (Windows, Word, email) Experience with SAP This position requires candidates to Have and maintain a valid CDL license and safe driving record (Following a conditional offer of employment, the Company will check the motor vehicle records of any job applicant when driving is an essential job function) Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing Be subject to overtime, extended work hours and work weeks, and callouts as needed Travel often (75%) to support construction activities in other company locations which will require overnight stays away from home and may be for long duration About our business TC Energy is a leading energy infrastructure company in North America.
