Application Close Date: September 13, 2024 The Opportunity Reporting to the Manager, WOF and Damage Prevention, this role will support a variety of pipeline integrity activities and projects involving the company's existing natural gas pipeline systems across the U.S and Canada. The WOF Engineer will assist with pipeline integrity program planning, manage and categorize geotechnical and hydrotechnical threats to pipelines, oversee investigations performed by third-party contractors, review and approve mitigation plans, produce engineering solutions to effectively monitor, assess and manage geotechnical hazards on pipeline assets, and participate in studies to develop engineering standards and procedures related to pipeline integrity projects. This position may be based in Washington, PA; Sugar Grove, OH; or Charleston, WV. Other locations may be considered depending on the successful candidate's location. What You'll Do Plan, execute, and develop the WOF Threat Management Program to address geotechnical and hydrotechnical pipeline threats Perform field work across North America to evaluate and document geotechnical and hydrotechnical pipeline threats Report, document, and demonstrate compliance with internal WOF processes and regulatory requirements Assist with developing internal standards and specifications to ensure compliance with regulations, codes, and industry best practices Represent TC Energy's Pipeline Integrity group in technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders Work with project managers and operations personnel to implement remediation and survey programs Conduct engineering assessments, feasibility studies, and risk analyses using practical experience and engineering principles Apply basic economic analysis and project management methods such as cost estimates, schedules, budget control, scope management, and resource planning Review and analyze results from third-party vendors to ensure desired benefits are achieved Provide timely technical support to various teams (regulatory, urban development, field assessment, etc.) Coordinate and direct the work of external consultants and contractors Make independent decisions and communicate recommendations to facilitate efficient outcomes Perform other related duties as required Minimum Qualifications 4-year degree in Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum Engineering, or a related Engineering/Geosciences discipline (applicants without an Engineering degree but significant experience may be considered for the Technologist job ladder) 1-3 years of experience in geohazard assessment or pipeline integrity Knowledge of 49 CFR Part 192, 49CFR Part 195, and related industry standards Exceptional interpersonal skills to work effectively with extended project teams Knowledge of slope stability and groundwater management Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Preferred Qualifications P.E. license or ability to obtain User-level proficiency with ESRI desktop and field mapping applications This position requires candidates to: Have and maintain a valid driver's license and safe driving record Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training, potentially involving overnight stays Driving a motor vehicle is an essential job function of this positio
