ABM Industries Staff Accountant in Sugar Land, Texas
Overview
The ABM Enterprise Services Center seeks a self-motivated individual eager to advance their career. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate as a business partner with the FP&A and operations teams within a shared services environment.
Essential Functions:
Execute month-end closing tasks promptly for designated areas, including:
Inputting data into the general ledger
Managing debits and credits
Managing reconciliations
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements.
Consistently apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Provide expert guidance on accounting matters to field personnel.
Proactively identify and prepare journal entries for assigned areas.
Drive and implement process improvements within the accounting function.
Identify, analyze, and communicate variances and their underlying drivers.
Conduct detailed trend and account analyses.
Deliver exceptional customer service to internal stakeholders.
Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts with precision.
Prepare and review journal entries.
Develop Prepared by Client (PBC) schedules and support external and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) audits.
Minimum Requirements:
0-2 years of Accounting experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience in accounting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Proven track record of process improvement and optimization.
Experience in conducting reconciliations and preparing journal entries.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
Strong customer service orientation.
Knowledge of JDE/ORC Cloud preferred but not required.
