Job Summary:

Akima Systems Engineering is looking for a qualified candidate to join our USMC Business Operations Support Services (MCBOSS) program and provide expertise and recommendations to take our current data set and create interactive, real-time dashboards for reporting to senior leadership within the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) and Program Executive Office Digital and Enterprise Services (PEO Digital).

MCBOSS is the USMC solution to build, accredit, deploy, and sustain applications, and deliver data, anywhere on the USMC network for every mission area rapidly and securely. MCBOSS offers a catalogue of products and services that a USMC customer may choose from to successfully migrate their existing applications into the government AWS cloud environment.

The MCBOSS Project Management Team tracks data across multiple service and hardware contracts and they track end user usage across the services and platforms being provided. This creates an environment where we have multiple stakeholders all looking for their cost-related data to be presented in a way that’s easy to understand and from many different perspectives.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • The qualified candidate will be able to work with the existing Management Team of project analysts and senior leadership to gather requirements and determine the best technologies to use to present our data in the most user-friendly manner.

  • Utilize visualization software, such as Power BI or AWS Quicksight to create a dashboard tool that can be used to organize and display MCBOSS financial information for the various stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with Team Leads and Stakeholders to improve business outcomes.

  • Mines and analyzes complex and unstructured data sets using advanced statistical methods for use in data driven decision making.

  • Performs research, analysis, and modeling on organizational data.

  • Develops and applies algorithms or models to key business metrics with the goal of improving operations or answering business questions.

  • Develop tools and testing models to ensure data accuracy.

  • Create and present reports that detail your findings, recommendations and solutions.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree in data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or engineering.

  • 5+ Years of experience working with complex data sets and organizing data across multiple contracts, customers, or programs.

  • 5 years of experience working with specific technology or technologies that may be used to create interactive dashboards. Experience with Flankspeed, Power BI and AWS Quicksight preferred.

  • Experience with business intelligence and data analytics tools.

  • Proficient technical writing and public speaking skills.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Minimum Secret Clearance required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in data science or related field.

  • Professional certifications such as SDS, PDS, etc.

  • Continually seeks education by pursuing and maintaining certifications and keeping current with technology and industry trends.

  • Entrepreneurial spirit.

  • Leadership and project management training.

  • Experience working with labor rates and charge codes that change frequently.

  • Experience working in Agile teams and using Scrums to organize work.
