Job Title: Assistant Nurse Manager

Job Functions:

Job Function: 01. OPERATIONS

  • Able to function independently with matters that involve personnel, patients, physicians, environmental, equipment, clinical and regulatory issues.

  • Coordinates and oversees day to day operations of the PMC including: clinical setting, staffing, and administrative needs

  • Creates a working environment that promotes positive employee engagement, adherence to company policies, effective communications, collaboration, innovation, optimal productivity, and continuous learning process.

  • Serves as liaison for the department with other departments, management, and medical staff as appropriate.

Job Function: 02. FINANCIAL

  • Collaborates with manager in areas of capital and non-capital needs.

  • Monitors costs and works with vendors and Strategic sourcing on cost containments.

  • Flexes staff to meet changing census and monitors productivity.

  • Identifies and implements ways to control expenses, as well as enhance revenues.

  • Develops new revenue streams, business opportunities, and growth initiatives.

  • Ensures staff and physician awareness of cost impact to organization.

  • Advises management on operational and functional improvement opportunities.

  • Strives to meet and exceed financial benchmarks using innovative methodologies.

Job Function: 03. CLINICAL

  • Ensures clinical practices and the environment of care meet regulatory standards.

  • Focuses staff on continuously building customer satisfaction for patients, physicians, colleagues, the community, and other departments served.

  • Provides direct patient care as needed.

Job Function: 04. GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT of PMC

  • Develops, supports, implements, and coordinates projects and programs in which to market the PMC services to the community and other departments.

  • Assists in the recruitment of physicians and services to enhance the PMC

  • Continually seeks ways to promote the organization and its programs.

Job Function: 05. ONBOARDING AND PERFORMANCE REVIEW

  • Participates in the interviewing, hiring and orientation of new clinical staff

  • Guides the training and competency assessment for necessary skills

  • Takes an active part in all phases of the performance review process.

  • Provides ongoing performance feedback and support to employees

  • Provides coaching, counseling, discipline, and documenting observations of employee performance under the supervision of the Manager

Job Function: 06. EDUCATION

  • Identifies educational opportunities and facilitates employee access to promote professional growth.

  • Demonstrates the commitment to continual learning and professional growth.

  • Serves as the educator for all PMC clinical staff.

Job Function: 07. QUALITY

  • Works collaboratively with manager on all aspects of the Pain Center to ensure quality of patient care and patient satisfaction are maintained to the highest standard. To include State regulations, The Joint commission, standards of care, and hospital policy.

Job Function: 08. TEAM LEADER

Demonstrates team leader abilities by:

  • Conflict Resolution-promotes clear, non-judgmental communication and action by setting clear boundaries/expectations, dealing directly with. Issues in a fair/respectful manner and confronting issues

Job Function: 09. ADMINISTRATIVE

  • Performs additional administrative responsibilities as requested to meet the needs of the department/organization.

  • Responsible for staff scheduling, timekeeping, and payroll management.

  • Participates on committees, serving as chairperson as required.

  • Actively supports employee participation in committees.

  • Works with the Manager to assist and/or lead projects for the PMC.

Job Function: 10. Promotes and maintains harmonious and effective relationships with physicians and hospital staff, hospital wide.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

Experience/Other Requirements:

  • RN licensure from State of New Jersey.

  • Pain Management, procedural

  • At least 5 years' experience in health care setting preferred.

  • Experience with quality indicators and preparing for health care regulatory surveys helpful.

  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.

  • Highly organized.

  • Effective organizational and time management skills necessary to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.

  • Proficient with various applications such as MS office suite and EMRs.

  • Physical Requirements: As defined by Occupation Safety/OMS.

Required:

  1. BSN required.

  2. BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certification.

  3. 2-5 years of experience in Nursing, or relevant area which includes experience in Basic Dysrhythmia.

  4. HRO training.

Preferred:

  1. MSN preferred.
