Google Product Operations Content Strategist, Google Cloud in Sunnyvale, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 11 years of experience in management consulting, product management and strategy, or analytics in a technology company.

  • 2 years of experience working within cloud infrastructure.

  • Experience working with and analyzing data, and managing multiple cross-functional programs or projects.

  • Experience developing presentations and narratives for executive or senior stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience developing strategies, ideas, and overall positioning of a product portfolio consisting of multiple products.

  • Experience influencing cross-functional decisions involving competing stakeholders.

  • Experience working with executive level internal and external clients/partners.

  • Experience operating in an ambiguous environment, proposing innovative approaches, and solutions to address market shifts to capitalize on opportunity in a dynamic market.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally, partnering with groups such as Sales, Engineering, Product Management, Product Marketing, UX and UI, brokering trade offs with stakeholders and understanding their needs.

Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines.

Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands.

The Google Infrastructure and Solutions Group (ISG) drives many Cloud products and is organized into a number of key areas of focus (Storage, Networking, Telco, Geo Expansion and Google Distributed Cloud). The team's mission is to identify growth, profitability, and partnership opportunities ensuring that the business runs with accuracy to drive necessary business outcomes.

As a Content Strategist, you will work closely with the Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to build and shape a compelling external narrative based on what’s happening in the market, what we are hearing from customers, and feedback from different internal teams. To succeed here, you'll need to take initiatives to work cross-functionally and to take risks or try out new ways of communicating and messaging things.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $165,000-$248,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Build and define the portfolio's narrative and positioning and drive cross-functional consensus to deliver business results. Build market intelligence to reflect challenges and opportunities in the market.

  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Engineering teams to communicate the external ISG narrative.

  • Define new strategies, including solution strategies, industry positioning, and go-to-market approaches, that enable new markets and access additional business growth potential.

  • Develop written materials including story pitches, messaging guidelines, blog posts, presentations, and speeches to support executives within ISG.

  • Provide insightful data-driven recommendations to leadership, based on strategic insights, analysis, and experience.
