Position Summary...

What you'll do...

As a Senior Director, Platform Product Manager, Emerging Tech , you will play a pivotal role in shaping Walmart's future by driving the adoption of cutting-edge technologies like conversational AI, AR/VR , and spatial computing. You will lead product initiatives that leverage these technologies to transform the experience for millions of Walmart customers and associates, improve operational efficiency, and drive innovation across the organization.

About the team

Walmart Emerging Tech 's team is dedicated to transforming the retail experience for millions of Walmart customers and associates through breakthrough technologies. Everyday, we work to provide new experiences and capabilities with a focus on conversational AI, AR/VR, and Spatial Computing. We enable these capabilities at Walmart scale empowering teams across the company to create and deliver new product experiences including virtual experiences for fashion and home, virtual assistants for customers and turn-by-turn navigation for shoppers in stores.

What you'll do...

  • Define and execute product strategy: Develop and execute the product strategy for emerging technologies, aligning with Walmart's overall business objectives.

  • Lead product roadmap: Create and manage a comprehensive product roadmap, prioritizing features and functionalities based on customer needs and market trends.

  • Lead stakeholder partnerships: Collaborate with product, design, technology and business partners across all parts of the business to leverage emerging technology.

  • Drive product development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, marketing, etc.) to ensure timely and successful product delivery.

  • Conduct technology strategy research: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to identify the next set of opportunities.

  • Drive data driven decisions: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess platform and experience success. Leverage data driven insights to drive continuous improvement.

  • Foster innovation: Encourage a culture of innovation and experimentation within the team, exploring new ways to leverage emerging technologies.

  • Lead Emerging Tech product team: Be an exception people leader with the ability to inspire, motivate and develop high performing teams.

What you'll bring...

  • At least 7 years of experience in product management, with a focus on platform.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills; ability to structure ambiguous problems, to bring logic to drive key analyses, and to synthesize analyses to actionable insights

  • Strong quantitative background with experience distilling insights from complex data

  • Deep understanding of emerging technologies, including Conversational AI, AR/VR, and spatial computing .

  • Strong executive presence. Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills with the ability to translate highly complex concepts and communicate them in a concise, digestible manner for technical and non-technical audiences

  • Exceptional people leader with ability to inspire, motivate, and develop teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a large-scale retail or e-commerce organization.

  • Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence.

  • Experience with enterprise agile methodologies and product development frameworks.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $208,000.00-$416,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Master's degree in computer science, engineering, business administration or related area and 12 years' experience in back-end platform or highly complex B2B/C products or experience in roles requiring data-driven decision making and quantitative analysis skills (including deep knowledge of Excel, SQL, or statistics), Supervisory experience, We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of accessibility best practices and join us as we continue to create accessible products and services following Walmart's accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.
