Walmart Senior Manager, Software Engineering in Sunnyvale, California
Position Summary...
What you'll do...
Directly manage one or more frontend and backend engineering teams and establish and maintain a top-notch engineering culture through positive examples highlighting fairness, career development transparency, documentation, and industry-standard practices.
Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness.
Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy.
Directs root cause analysis of critical business and production issues by reviewing and analyzing information (for example, issue, impact, criticality, possible root cause); directing actions as designated in the plan; interpreting the results to determine further action; directing root cause analysis to prevent future occurrence of issues; and reviewing and approving online documentation.
Drives focus and improvement on objective improvement of engineering velocity and technical metrics like availability and application performance.
Collaborate with engineering peers, leaders, and business stakeholders to identify solutions to technical and business opportunities.
Supports business objectives by collaborating with business partners to identify opportunities and drive resolution; partnering with business to define priorities; identifying short- and long-term solutions; and leading cross-functional partnership
Leads the discovery phase of large projects to develop high level design by partnering with the Product Management, Project Management, Business and User Experience teams; obtaining cross-function approvals; driving proof-of-concept; and implementing prototypes to validate ideas.
Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.
Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost- effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events
What you'll bring:
10+ years of experience in various elements of full-stack software development - frontend, backend, data and insights and hands-on coding experience in the past.
3+ years of people leadership experience in building and leading engineering teams.
Technical leadership experience in design, implementation, and support of core front end, orchestration, and database services that are highly reliable, flexible, and scalable.
Development experience on both Web and Mobile platforms.
Strong design and Architectural skills
Proven ability to earn respect, trust, and influence from people you work with and to mentor top technical talent.
Preferred Qualifications
• Deep understanding of Mobile and Web technologies.
• Experience in eCommerce domain highly desirable

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00-$286,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
