Google Senior Product Manager, Google Kubernetes Engine Gateway/Ingress in Sunnyvale, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8 years of experience in product management or related technical role.

  • 5 years of experience building and shipping technical products.

  • 3 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.

  • Experience with Networking, Network Architecture, Networking Protocols, Software Architecture.

  • Experience setting up price and determining cost.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a technology or business related field.

  • 5 years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI, sales finance, and other stakeholders.

  • 5 years of experience in a business function or role (e.g., strategic marketing, business operations, consulting).

  • 4 years of experience in a role preparing and delivering technical presentations to senior leadership.

  • 3 years of experience in software development or engineering.

  • 3 years of people management experience with direct reports, and in technical leadership.

In this role, you will work cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development.

Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

As part of Cloud Networking, our team owns Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) Gateway and Ingress. This solution serves as the front-end access point to most GKE applications, and the integration to access most GKE workloads running within a cluster. As the GKE Gateway is based on the open source Kubernetes API Gateway, our team also works extensively with the GKE open source community on the API Gateway specifications to help define new industry standards and capabilities.

Our goal is to empower GKE and Kubernetes development team to build enterprise applications which leverage the power of open source technologies as well as fully-managed Google Cloud solutions.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $168,000-$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Define the long-term strategic roadmap for the GKE Gateway.

  • Own the execution to deliver a multi­-year product roadmap.

  • Integrate the innovations stemming from solution such as Cloud Load Balancers and Open Source Envoy proxies.

  • Help to build scalable go-to-market models with sales and partners.

  • Drive product adoption, business, and other success metrics.
