Amazon Software Dev Engineer II, Product Information in Sunnyvale, California

We are looking for Software Development Engineers who move fast, are capable of breaking down and solving complex problems, and have a strong will to get things done. SDEs at Amazon work on real world problems at scale, own their systems end to end and influence the direction of our technology that impacts customers.

At Amazon an SDE can expect to design flexible and scalable solutions, and work on some of the most complex challenges in large-scale computing by utilizing your skills in data structures, algorithms, and object oriented programming.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

    • 2+ year of industrial experience with Java and/or Python * 1+ year of industrial experience with AWS for run-time services or big data processing * 1+ year of industrial experience with Machine learning systems * Experience working with cross-functional teams including communicating with other technical teams, product management, and senior management * High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously * History of teamwork and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done
Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field

  • 2+ years with at least one modern programming language like Java, Python, C++, or C#

  • 2+ year of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including communicating with other technical teams, product management, and senior management

  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously

  • History of teamwork and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
