Key job responsibilities
The right candidate should possess a strong program management background, have experience leading large/complex/cross-Org. projects, build trust with stakeholders, and have a well-rounded technical background.
As a Sr. Technical Program Manager, your responsibilities will include writing specifications, driving project schedules from design to release, managing the production launch for a product/feature, and using metrics to provide status along the way. You will lead and coordinate design and implementation efforts, coordinating across multiple teams to develop optimal solutions. You will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, destroy limits to scale, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives while rolling up your sleeves to get the job done. This role will require high judgement on how we can deliver for customers in both the short- and long-term.
A day in the life
As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will:
Work with key stakeholders in product management and executive teams to define strategy and requirements.
Use your leadership abilities to drive cross functional development on new solutions from design through delivery.
Work with remote teams to deliver supporting software and services in sync with launch timelines.
Communicate regularly with senior management on status, risks and change control.
About the team
The Device OS team is a big part of creating the innovative devices at Lab126. The Device OS team is responsible for the board bring up, low level software, operating system, core framework feature development, and end-to-end system functions, such as power/performance/Stability, that bring the devices to life. The software built by the Device OS team runs on many Amazon devices such as Fire Tablets, Fire Sticks, Fire TV Cubes, Fire TVs, and many more.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
3+ years of technical product or program management experience
3+ years of software development experience
3+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
