Job Summary
This position is covered by the collective bargaining agreement between Dominion Energy and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 50.
Pay Rate is $23.95 an hour with pay increases every 6 months until completion of 24-month training period.
Dominion Energy's Power Generation business unit seeks a highly motivated and qualified individual to fill the position of Power Storekeeper Trainee to support North Anna Power Station (Power Storekeepers are asked to submit bid letters to hiring manager and request to transfer - please contact your manager and HRBP). The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating safe general warehouse operations and activities including shipping and receiving deliveries, conducting stock checks, documenting warehouse transactions and records, and performing inventory counting through a cycle count process. The individual will handle all materials in and out of the warehouse at the Station.
Tasks:
Warehouse operations: Safely coordinating daily warehouse activities, such as shipping and receiving, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of material handling equipment. Safely load and unload various types of trucks at the warehouse and surrounding yards - to include but not limited to box trucks and flat beds. Ensuring appropriate documentation is received with material, such as certs, heat, MSDS, etc. Create notifications in SAP for discrepancies with material during receipt processes. Print labels and label material per procedure. Retrieve material from various storage locations for issuance/replace material in various storage locations from returns. Determine safe method to handle large and unusual size items such as pipe, motors, pumps, large crates, etc.
Inventory Management: Maintaining inventory levels, establishing stock criteria, and ensuring products are available for customers. Safely handle, move, reorganize, repalletize material for its appropriate storage requirements from original packing upon completion of inspection and receipt. Control batch managed inventory per procedures, through documenting in SAP and proper physical marking of materials. Performing inventory/cycle count per the business unit requirements.
Computer Usage and Record keeping: Using SAP to perform receipts, issues, returns, transfers and utility sale transactions, and managing physical storage locations of materials through bin location updates per Supply Chain Management procedures. Maintaining accurate records, files, and logs of warehouse transactions and storage. Ensure accuracy of transactions meet SOX compliance requirements. Having the ability to use SAP and other nuclear software programs to inquire and perform consumption/usage research, investigate transactions to resolve inventory discrepancies.
Communication: Communicating effectively with employees and outside agencies, both verbally and in writing.
Equipment operations: Operate standard forklift (4,000lb-12,000lb.) and specialized fork trucks - wire guide, narrow aisle, etc., WAV (work assist vehicle), UTV (utility task vehicle), or others as required. Utilize other material handling equipment - electric and manual pallet jacks, scissor lifts, hand trucks, carts, etc. Operate various power and hand tools (band saw, drill, screwdriver, hammer, pumps, calipers, etc.)
Safety and Housekeeping Experience.
Must wear proper PPE at all times - Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, Gloves, and Composite or Steel Toe shoes while performing job tasks.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
0-2 years of experience. Must have a high school diploma/GED
Valid driver’s license required
Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment/parts
Experience working in a warehouse - preferred
Experience operating a forklift - strongly preferred
Experience with inventory management - preferred
Capability to work independently
Proficient in operations of a personal computer -preferred SAP, Microsoft Office, Email
Effectively and accurately enter data into computer systems
Attention to detail
Ability to accurately read, follow, interpret and comply with departmental policies and procedures
Performs assigned tasks independently and without significant oversight
Effectively interfaces and communicates with personnel from many other departments and companies
Basic Math
Perform all tasks safely utilizing "STAR" process, Human Performance and OSHA requirements
Be able to work inside and outside in changing weather conditions, including rain, extreme cold, snow, and extreme heat
Manually lift material up to 50 lbs. Climbing steps and ladders. Able to manage heights and confined areas
Climb ladders or stairs to put material into storage locations, working at heights up to 25 ft.
Physical labor is required- such as standing, lifting, moving and carrying heavy objects.
