       License and Certification Qualifications: Valid Georgia Class C Driver's License required. Valid ServSafe certification required. Department of Education (DOE) School Nutrition Manager 1 certification required.Education Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.Experience Qualifications: Five years of supervisory experience in cafeteria management, or a supervisory/leadership position in a related capacity required. Experience in cafeteria training in a school setting preferred.Skills Qualifications: Ability to manage programs and effectively communicate with administration and personnel; ability to manage a team with highly diverse skill sets and successfully lead them in continuous improvement; ability to develop training materials to achieve objectives; ability to analyze existing processes and identify areas for improvement; ability to project and generate positive attitudes; and ability to work successfully with colleagues.Primary Responsibilities:Provide support and technical assistance in training School Nutrition staff for compliance within the School Nutrition Program (SNP), Provide on-site and hands-on training and support at the local school level, oversees and assists with developing, coordinating, and conducting training for School Nutrition Managers and Assistant Managers and Food Service Workers. Ensures compliance with GADOE training expectations.1. Provide training support and technical assistance in conjunction with the Coordinator of School Nutrition Operations to all School Nutrition Managers and other School Nutrition personnel.2. Conduct operational audits to identify training needs and provide technical guidance and direction in the following areas:a Ensure adherence to federal, state, and county regulations applicable to the SNP Department.b Provide guidance on inventory management, record keeping, end of month reports, and program accountability.c Provide guidance on food quality, presentation, food safety, and sanitation.d Provide guidance on operational results, cost reduction, customer service, and back office and inventory software programs.3. Develop and implement training programs for all phases of food service to include an introduction to institutional food service, continuing education programs, and a comprehensive training package for staff members.a. Oversee Assistant Manager training program and new assistants continuation program.b. Assist in coordinating Manager and Assistant Manager meetings.c. Assist in planning SNP back-to-school in-service.4. Provide on-going SNP training and assistance to employees in all aspects of local school operations.a. Assist in the development and teaching of SNP courses such as Training-In-Depth (TID) courses, Manager-In-Training (MIT) courses, New Incoming Manager Orientation and other courses as needed.b. Assure alignment of the courses with state curriculum.c. Works with GADOE to ensure the department remains current with state and federal training guidelines.5. Lead training for new management team members in the following: forecasting, setting production needs, and planning employee work schedules and operations to assure each meal meets requirements as established by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).a. Meet regularly with first year managers and associate managers to provide training and support. Continue to monitor and assess training needs.b. Teaches classes and facilitates additional training with partnering departments to provide well rounded training for personnel. 6. Conduct train-the-trainer sessions for all School Nutrition Managers and/or team members as needed on equipment to include: operational procedures and daily, weekly, and monthly overall general care and maintenance procedures.a.Develop and implement effective instructional practices.b. Instruct and proctor ServSafe examinations for current managers and assistants, and food assistants interested in taking TID.c. Evaluate and select appropriate resources - (textbooks, and software) in addition to identifying the best instructional practices to achieve the stated mission.d. Support SNP Managers in the delivery of professional development materials with their staff.7. Work with central office personnel to coordinate training programs for new staff members, including reviewing and updating the New Employee Training Manual and provide input regarding topics for monthly training meetings and other Just-in-Time training topics.a. Ongoing collaboration with Operations Specialists, and other SNP Central Office staff to identify training needs.8. Assist with continuous quality improvement to departmental processes.9. Assist with planning and implementation of additional School Nutrition meal programs and initiatives as needed. 10. Perform other duties as assigned. The employee may be required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
