       License and Certification Qualifications: Microsoft MCSE certification required; ITIL, A+, and Network+ certifications (or equivilent) preferred.Education Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.Experience Qualifications: Five years? experience in Microsoft Windows System administration required. Experience with Hypervisors such as VMWare or Hyper-V required. Experience with Active Directory preferred.Skills Qualifications: Extensive knowledge of the Windows Server operating system, industry standards, and best practices. Understanding of performance tuning, system troubleshooting, server architecture, large-scale Windows Server deployment and management; hardware troubleshooting and maintenance; monitoring best practices; networking concepts; hypervisors such as Hyper-V or VMWare; Active Directory; ability to communicate in an effective manner and provide effective customer service in high-stress situations; exceptional analytic and problem solving skills; ability to work well with peers and customers; ability to manage multiple projects; and ability to supervise and assign projects to contracted personnel with minimal guidance.Primary Responsibilities: Perform at the highest level in all technical phases of supporting the Microsoft Windows Server platform: physical, virtual, local, and/or cloud.1. Administer the Hyper-V Windows Server Virtual Environment.a. Troubleshoot issues with the Hyper-V hypervisor; resolve hardware and software issues.b. Advise management on current and projected system resource utilization levels.c. Maintain knowledge of the latest industry trends concerning hypervisors and virtualization.2. Administer Microsoft Windows Servers: physical, virtual, local, and/or cloud.a. Provide technical support and advice to application administrators, their business units, and vendors; troubleshoot Windows systems and servers.b. Assess stability and security of Windows systems.c. Working with the Active Directory team, manage user server access.d. Monitor system performance; constantly improve system monitoring.e. Working with the Enterprise Backup Administrators, ensure GCPS assets are protected through backups and other disaster recovery methodologies.f. Perform Windows Server OS and security updates; maintain compliance.g. Write Powershell or other scripts to support administration efforts efficiently.3 Supervise and instruct the Windows System Administrator contracted personnel.a Assign tasks and provide mentoring to the contracted personnel who perform functions in support of the departmental responsibilities.4. Provide support to customer service and local school technical staff.a Provide direct support for network, hardware, and directory service issues via the telephone and on-site to Technology Support Technician (TST’s) and level two support staff. b Provide the instruction and course material for training classes as needed.5. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time.
