You are responsible for
Leads the software design and implementation of the Interventional Workspot ( IW ) platform and Interventional Applications (iApps) using C# and C++ on a windows environment
The applications are developed in a DevOps environment with a high focus on test automation, security and quality
Participates in the full software development process
Challenges requirements, design and quality, focused on technical leadership
Recognized technical expert within the team on specific areas/components
Ready to work in pairing mode with the team
Expert on own field of expertise and recognized within Business Group. Shapes development practices and technologies within the business
Is the technical coach of a team or domain, recognized and approached by team members. Reviews, guides and coaches others in that domain. Shares knowledge across teams. Sets quality goals and development practices with the team
You are a part of
The Interventional Applications (iApps) group within the China Image Guided Therapy (IGT) Cluster R&D organization in Philips is a newly formed team to support further strategic growth of IGT in China. The iApps group plays a crucial role in the design, development and maintenance of clinical applications and solutions for our customers. The China IGT cluster collaborates with the global teams across the sites of Netherlands, India, USA and Israel. The global team is responsible for the development and maintenance of 20+ 2D & 3D Interventional Applications, used in combination with our Azurion, Intrasight and Zenition product platforms. Our products are used across all clinical area of Neuro, cardiac, Oncology and vascular medical diagnosis and intervention (e.g. balloon angioplasty and stent procedures). Customers are interventional specialists, in the cardiology and radiology domain operating in hospitals across the globe.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
The software designer within the Interventional Applications group:
Creates working software using C#/.NET and C++ Develops features in an agile approach
Actively participates in sprint planning, daily stand‐up meetings, sprint reviews, sprint retrospectives and backlog refinement
Contributes to continuous improvement of the team, software and processes
Designs, codes, documents, tests (writes automated tests), maintains and deploys software
Supports DevSecOps in deploying software
Sets, monitors and ensures to meet own performance metrics
Defines, monitors and meets quality metrics
Provides technical solutions that conform to requirements with a strong focus on end‐users, high quality (code quality/QMS/regulatory standards), performance, safety and security
Keeps abreast of technical knowledge by studying and implementing state‐of‐the‐art programming & design techniques and development tools, participating in educational opportunities, participating in communities of practice, reading professional publications and maintaining personal networks
Lead design and development of high quality, re-useable, high performance SW components
Lead the design of software components and work with the team to realize the implementation
Leverage software technologies to build simple and robust solutions
Support scrum master/project management in estimation, planning and execution of the software components
Ensure that performance / nonfunctional requirements are defined and addressed by teams
Mentor the junior members of the team on technical aspects
Serve as a driving force for SW functional excellence
Promote domain knowledge, system thinking, and customer understanding
Identify patentable Idea from the project and file
Experience & Qualifications
Bachelors/Master’s degree in Computer Science or relevant field
Overall 9-12 years of experience in software development with at least 5 years in C++ on a windows environment
Experience in working on docker containers, Kubernetes is preferred
Experience in working on cloud native applications and technologies like Angular/React/Java/Linux is a plus
Appreciation of data analytics, and understanding of AI/ML will be preferred
Experience & firm knowledge in software design concepts and design patterns
Experience in the system design and implementation of complex, multi-generation, SW products.
Experience with Agile methodology, tools and practices.
Familiar with client-server and distributed environments
Proven working experience in global, multidiscipline environment
Exposure to healthcare standards (HL7, IHE) and regulations.
Experience in a medical regulated environment, testing, and quality assurance is a plus
Knowledge and experience of international standards (e.g. FDA regulatory, IEC 62304, IEC60601, ISO13485, ISO14971)
Strong communicative skills; both on individual and in group level
Proficiency in English, both written and verbal is a must
Programming languages & paradigms, methodologies and techniques (e.g. CleanCode)
Software design (SOLID, DRY) including software design patterns
Lean / Agile / SAFe
Software Craftsmanship – Code quality, DevOps/ CICD, Test automation
