Description
A food distribution company is looking for an experienced payroll manager to lead our payroll department. The ideal candidate will excel at managing, overseeing and directing all aspects of the company's payroll functions. You must be able to go ONSITE 5 days/ week.
Responsibilities:
Directing, leading, and managing the operations of the payroll department.
Developing systems to process payroll account transactions (e.g., salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes, and third party payments).
Coordinating efforts with HR department to ensure correct employee data.
Managing and resolving issues relating to payroll production.
Ensuring compliance with current government regulations.
Establishing and implementing policies on matters such as payroll advancements to employees.
Ensuring accurate and prompt annual production of Form W-2.
Preparing and presenting reports to senior management.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or finance.
At least 5 years of experience in a payroll department including 2+ years of supervisory experience.
Proven experience as a payroll manager or similar role.
Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices.
High degree of professionalism.
Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
Proficient with Microsoft Office and payroll software systems
