Job Purpose

Asset Management is the coordinated capability to make life-cycle cost, risk and performance decisions based on the condition, criticality, and performance of the gas distribution system in our New York operating territories.

Key Accountabilities

  • Establish and/or adhere to existing procedures for condition monitoring, inspection, predictive and preventative maintenance, and corrective maintenance for the gas distribution system.
  • Lead and/or participate in both internal and external regular audit activities.
  • Asses any material gaps in compliance with state/federal code through the implementation of the integrity management plan.
  • Assist in the development of risk-based capital plans for the gas distribution system.
  • Communicate the system's performance to operations and leadership at regular intervals.
  • Work with other functional leaders in National Grid to drive consistency and sharing of best practices in asset management and engineering for Gas Distribution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited institution, focusing on an engineering discipline or science.
  • A minimum of two (2) years' experience in an engineering/technical role
  • Ability to perform routine engineering work requiring the application of standard engineering techniques and procedures with moderate oversight.
  • Awareness of relevant state and federal codes, practices, and standards.
  • Basic understanding of financial terms, tracking and analysis; familiarity with Maximo, SAP, PowerPlan preferred.
  • Ability to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to obtain and share information.
  • Awareness of the issues impacting the energy industry sector.
  • Ability to identify opportunities to improve department processes and products.
  • Valid driver's license required with a safe driving history.

Salary - $88,000 - $103,000

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
