SUNY ESF Research Foundation - Project Staff Associate in Syracuse, New York

Job Description:Title: Project Staff AssociateUnit: Center for Native Peoples and the EnvironmentPosition location: ESF's Syracuse campusSalary: $62,000 - $66,000 at full time rate, commensurate with experience Timeframe: This project is currently funded for 3 years, Fall 2024 - Fall 2027Function and Scope: Working under general supervision, incumbents facilitate the operation of a project or program through administrative coordinating activities. Requires analytical and problem-solving skills, independent judgment, collaboration and initiative to accomplish goals. May include supervisory responsibilities.Summary: This project manager will oversee the Center for Native Peoples, and the Environment programs established through support from the New York Office of Attorney General and the Northeast Climate Adaptation Science Center (NECASC).Typical Duties Perform administrative coordinating activities such as purchasing, personnel, budget and financial reporting. Interact with sponsor or client to maintain effective project/program operation. Interpret policy and procedures and make appropriate recommendations. Identify, research and analyze issues for management decision. Work collaboratively with other employees, faculty and professionals to problem-solve and advance the goals of the project/program.Requirements:Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in an appropriate fieldExperience in projects or programs involving external sponsors.Superior coordination and interpersonal skills for liaison functions with various administrative units and external agenciesPreferred Qualifications: Member of an Indigenous Nation recognized by New York State or within the Northeast region.Familiarity with plant ecology and botanyAdditional Information:SUNY-ESF and the Broader CommunityESF is a specialized college within the 64-campus SUNY system, and a Carnegie R2 "High Research Activity" Institution that consistently earns high rankings in US News and World Report, Forbes, Princeton Review, and other national college guidebooks.
