We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Software Engineer for Edison Datalogue Connect. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of complex software solutions, ensuring high performance, scalability, and robustness. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to architectural decisions.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex software solutions for our product

• Collaborate with the team to define, design, and ship new features in a timely manner

• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications

• Mentor and support other engineers, promoting best practices and continuous learning

• Seek and provide feedback on design and development

• Participate in architectural discussions and decision-making processes

• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize code to deliver high-quality software

Desired Characteristics

Technical Expertise:

• Strong knowledge of object-oriented and functional design, software design patterns and coding best practices

• Extensive experience of Java-based ecosystems and frameworks (Spring Boot, Micronaut)

• Strong experience with Javascript/Typescript-based frontend technologies (Angular, AngularJS)

• Strong experience with relational databases (MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL)

• Experience with NodeJS and its ecosystem are a plus

• Experience with automated deployment practices and Infrastructure as Code is a plus

Business Acumen:

• Strong problem-solving abilities and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments

• Experience in building scalable and highly available distributed systems

• Expert in breaking down problems and estimate time for development tasks

• Evangelizes how our technology solves customer problems from a technology and business perspective

Leadership:

• Demonstrates clarity of thinking to work through limited information and vague problem definitions

• Influences through others; builds direct and "behind the scenes" support for ideas

• Proactively identifies and removes project obstacles or barriers on behalf of the team

• Able to work under minimal supervision

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity

• Skilled in providing oversight and mentoring team members. Shows ability to effectively delegate work
