Responsibilities

As a technical member of Azure Maps, you will be responsible for building world-class Maps and Geospatial services. You will gain experience in the full development lifecycle from inception to production, including design, implementation, and deployment of large-scale services. 

You will demonstrate engineering excellence and curiosity to dive deep while solving challenging problems. Your passion for customers and their needs will shine through as you build delightful experiences.

  • Design and develop features for Azure Maps backend services.

  • Design and develop features for Azure Maps APIs.

  • Deliver unit/integration/end-to-end tests, Azure DevOps build/release pipelines, and monitoring mechanisms.

  • Work closely with engineers and technical program managers across sites.

  • Have fun while doing it.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Passionate about writing quality code and proficient in at least one programing language such as C#, C++, Java, Python, JavaScript, GO.

  • Demonstrable history of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.  

  • Strong collaborative and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Experience in leading team members to build backend services.

  • Experience in delivering and driving architecture design review.

  • Able to communicate with foreigners in English.

  • Experienced in cloud platform development including, but not limited to Azure, GCP and AWS.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in building a substantial Cloud-Native Application is a plus.

  • Maps and Geospatial experience is a big plus.

  • An understanding of Azure services such as Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Key Vault, Azure CosmosDB, Azure Service Fabric, Azure Service Bus, Azure Traffic Manager, Azure Front Door, and Azure Load Balancer is desirable.

  • Any full-stack development experience is good.
