Educational Facilities Space Planner (01118)
The State University System of Florida Board of Governors is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Educational Facilities Space Planner. This position plays a key role as a member of a small interdisciplinary team that must address issues associated with all types of university buildings, future space needs, and utilization. This position provides a great opportunity for hands-on experience, as well as formal training and continued education.
Working with the Finance and Facilities staff, as well as university facilities and space personnel, this position assists in long-term policy planning and space management of approximately 40,000,000 square feet of educational facilities statewide. A background in educational facilities and/or space planning or facilities budgets is desirable. This position reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Finance and Facilities. Examples of responsibilities, duties, and activities may include, but are not limited to:
Assists with the coordination and execution of the five-year educational plant surveys and supplemental surveys, as well as the ongoing review of underlying space/facilities-related data submitted by universities.
Assists with the development of facilities-related regulations, policies and procedures.
Responsible for ensuring that Facilities-related website content and information is current and accurate.
Provides support for issues related to university capital planning and budgeting, as well as annual review of university capital improvement plans as part of the systemwide legislative budget request.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related major and one year of experience. Lack of educational background may be offset by a minimum 5 years relevant work experience .
Preferred Requirements
Prefer project management experience in areas such as facilities planning, educational space planning, or related field. Technical proficiency with spreadsheets and the ability to learn various software applications a plus.

Hiring Range
Anticipated range is $55,000 - $60,000 commensurate with experience and education.
