ACCOUNTING SERVICES ANALYST-B – 70021670

This advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office Tallahassee, FL in the Finance & Accounting department.

Salary rate: $52,426.14 annually

SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This Accounting Services analyst - B position is housed in the Travel/PCard section within the Bureau of Finance & Accounting. This position is responsible for working with agency financial & accounting records; processing accounts payable transactions while maintaining compliance with State and Agency policies and procedures. Performs routine accounting reconciliations, conducts research to resolve discrepancies, and maintains section files

  • Team Lead to the PCard/Travel Section reporting directly to the Professional Accountant Specialist-SES.

  • Serve as quality control specialist for the PCard/Travel program. Ensures compliance with §215.422 F.S., Reference Guide for State Expenditures, department procedures, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other fiscal standards, for the timely payment of the department’s legal liabilities.

  • Monitor outstanding transactions in PCard/Travel for timely processing; including, but not limited to, monitoring and working reports, and processing transactions.

  • Assist in on-boarding new staff or new policies and/or procedures. Motivate and train employees in the proper procedures to be used in conjunction with the level of work to be performed.

  • Conducts research to resolve problems and complete journal transfers.

  • Provides accounting support to staff, vendors, auditors, requestors, and other internal/external customers.

  • Maintains minimum required Departmental annual training hours and attends sufficient additional training in all relevant areas of accounting and computer systems to remain current and efficient.

  • Assist with year-end closing activities of the section and the certified forward process.

  • Conducts special projects as assigned by management.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One (1) year of state of Florida government agency Accounts Payable experience

  • A high school diploma or its equivalent and three (3) years of accounting, finance, or administrative experience OR A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • State of Florida government agency Travel or PCard disbursement, audit, or management/lead worker experience
