Duties and Responsibilities
The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) is a state agency that provides highway safety and security through excellence in service, education, and enforcement. FLHSMV’s Office of Communications is seeking applicants for a Career Service Marketing and Social Media Manager. The Marketing and Social Media Manager is responsible for developing and implementing public safety campaigns and social media marketing strategies that reflect the Department’s mission, vision, and values.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of social media platforms.
Ability to use Microsoft Office products and creative editing (mobile or desktop) programs.
Knowledge of social media and marketing strategies
Ability to compose written communication for statewide public safety campaigns and social media platforms
Excellent written communication skills.
Skill in planning, organizing, and coordinating work assignments in a timely manner.
Ability to build relationships with stakeholders, partners, and vendors to enhance brand visibility and maximize reach
Ability to work with a team to curate content and develop strategies to promote community awareness and education
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with the following:
Experience using My Florida Marketplace, Microsoft Office, Excel, Canva, Hootsuite, Adobe Creative or other mobile or desktop editing programs, and Teams.
Applicants with two or more years of experience creating social media content or implementing public safety campaigns for a State of Florida Agency.
General Information
The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
