Microsoft Development Center Estonia, with Offices in Tallinn and Tartu, is part of the Experiences & Devices division within Microsoft and well known for its Skype history. Today, our focus is much broader: We are building the Intelligent Conversations & Communications Cloud (IC3) which powers communication services for millions of Microsoft customers around the world across products such as Skype, Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams, Xbox, Windows, Azure and more. Our IC3 platform is one of the largest Azure deployments worldwide and growing rapidly. We own many large-scale applications in Estonia: from real-time communications, engineering systems to commerce, payments, anti-fraud and SMS. Together with partner teams across Microsoft we build and run an intelligent fabric of communication services to empower every person and organization to achieve more.

You will become a member of an engineering team that is responsible for the best global call quality to mobile and landline networks in the world.

There’s tons to do, but at the heart of it, you’ll have 3 priorities:

• Owning the call reliability and quality of Teams

• Automating manual tasks

• Mitigation of live site incidents

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Management of our Telco Carrier network

• Development of monitoring and routing tools in Azure

• Troubleshooting complex calling scenarios

• Participation in solving service incidents and cooperation with incident management

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across network, devices, application, and distributed services

• Experience with data analysis, writing queries and scripts to process and visualize data

• Fast learner, out of the box, quick and agile thinking to adapt to fast pace and changing environment

• Great communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with VoIP and SIP

• Experience building or operating distributed cloud-based software services

We're looking for a person with good energy and strong technical/logical mind rather than someone with specific domain experience.
