Bloomin' Brands Accountant II (Cash) in Tampa, Florida


The purpose of the Cash Accountant II position is to analyze and account for transactions on the bank reconciliations accurately and in compliance with GAAP, company and department policies and procedures, internal controls and SOX requirements. The expectation is that the person can perform analyses and research with some direction, and routine tasks with little or no direction.

This role is based in our Tampa Restaurant Support Center, but will work remotely thru the end of 2021.


The following duties are typical for this position, but are not limited to:

  • Daily validation of bank to general ledger balances

  • Monitor and maintain the daily sales postings

  • Monitor assigned bank accounts and perform cash reconciliations on open items

  • Analyze bank reconciliations monthly prepare/propose journal entries if necessary

  • Prepare Cash balance sheet reconciliations

  • Assist with system testing, as needed

  • Provide management with timely and accurate information on cash balances to support business decisions

  • Assist in the development of tools, reporting and metrics to maximize efficiencies

  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and standardization - raises opportunities to the supervisor

  • Ad Hoc Analysis requests as needed


  • 2-4 years of experience in a multi-unit accounting department preferred

  • Deadline-oriented with excellent time management skills

  • Experience in high volume

  • Strong customer service skills and high integrity are essential

  • Strong understanding of internal controls required

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational skills

  • Must have technical proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, etc.)

  • Understanding of GAAP accounting concepts and terminology

  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written

  • Ability to work in a team environment


  • Bachelor’s degree required with an Accounting or Finance major preferred
