The Associate Director, Procurement, Project Management Office (PMO) role will support key Procurement projects and will be responsible for leading and managing complex, strategic projects, including acquisition integration work within the organization. The role will support the evolving Procurement priorities, Operating Model & Strategy. This role will drive BMS Procurement strategic initiatives managing multiple projects while maintaining effective alignment with stakeholders, business processes, and technology implementations.

This role involves overseeing project planning, execution, and delivery while ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive cross-functional teams towards successful project completion.

Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities :

Project Leadership

  • Lead and manage multiple complex, strategic projects simultaneously including acquisition integrations, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

  • Develop, execute and maintain detailed project plans aligned with BMS Procurement strategic objectives, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.

  • Support the Senior Director, Procurement PMO in the development and implementation of PMO strategies, methodologies, and best practices to ensure effective project delivery.

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with key and senior stakeholders to define project objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.

  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and senior management regularly.

Team Management

  • Lead cross-functional project teams, providing direction, support, and motivation including senior Procurement leadership.

  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.

Risk Management

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.

  • Develop and execute contingency plans to address potential challenges and ensure project continuity.

Process Improvement

  • Continuously evaluate and improve project management processes and methodologies.

  • Implement best practices and tools to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.

Budget Management

  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial resources are allocated appropriately.

  • Monitor project expenditures and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare and present regular project status reports to stakeholders and senior management.

  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project charters, plans, and post-project evaluations.

Training and Development

  • Provide training and development opportunities for project team members.

  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the PMO.

Internal/External Stakeholders:

  • Strategy & Performance team within Procurement

  • Procurement SLT

  • Various external (to procurement) stakeholders depending on project scope

  • Management throughout the Procurement Team including senior leaders

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum education of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in project management, with at least three (3) years in a leadership role.

  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects from initiation to completion.

  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA, Asana).

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions in a highly matrixed organization global setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.

  • Two (2) to three (3) years of multi-disciplined procurement experience is highly desirable.
