SOS International LLC Chinese (Mandarin-Simplified) Linguist in Tampa, Florida
Overview
SOSi is seeking a natively fluent Chinese (Mandarin-Simplified) Linguist who will support a social media program in Tampa, FL. The candidate will develop and maintain expertise with designated regional issues and will draw upon publicly available online information resources. They will read, analyze, and draft communications regarding regional and ideological discussions in specified foreign language media environments.
Essential Job Duties
Examines current media statements or postings to support trend analysis and identifies key communicators.
Demonstrates reading and writing expertise in the assigned language and incorporates custom social media solutions to comprehend online environments and communicate trends effectively.
Supports operations planning.
Demonstrates knowledge of online social media and different technologies, and documents activities, notes, informative papers, or whitepapers written in English.
Some travel may be required.
The ability to work nonstandard hours and in on-call status for periods of time may be required.
Minimum Requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in a related business or technical discipline.
Requires 3+ years of related experience OR Associate’s degree in a related discipline and 7+ years of related experience, OR 9+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
Possess Mandarin - Simplified language proficiency equivalent to ILR 3 in reading & writing.
Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
Active in-scope Secret Clearance.
OSINT experience.
Military or Department of Defense experience.
Work Environment
Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Must be comfortable working in a multi-cultural environment.
Some evening, weekend, or shift work could be required.
Some travel may be required.
