The role you’ll contribute:

The Clinical Pharmacist shall support the mission of the hospital and pharmacy department by preventing, identifying and resolving drug related problems to assure patient safety, improve patient satisfaction and minimize costs.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

· Actively performs all pharmacy functions and maintains active proficiency in s tandard work parameters.

· Oversees appropriate utilization of medication automation, technology, and computer systems.

· Accurately oversees the management of medication inventories and the preparation and dispensing of patient specific medication doses.

· Completes critical medication order scrutiny, drug profile review, and patient monitoring to identify, prevent, or mitigate medication-related problems.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

· Bachelor of Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy, or other advanced pharmacy degree.

· PGY1 Pharmacy Residency or three years of clinical pharmacy experience.

· Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

· Applicable State Pharmacy License.

**Must have 1 year experience in a clinical/hospital setting.

Preferred experience :

  • PGY2 in emergency medicine or critical care OR PGY1 plus 3 years of practice in the emergency department OR 5 years practice in the emergency department

  • BCEMP (preferred), BCCCP, BCPS

  • Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 30 days of start date

  • Experience with the following service initiatives:

  • Participate in bedside care of medical emergencies including but not limited to cardiac arrest, stroke, intubation, STEMI, and procedural sedation

  • Assess and make recommendations regarding appropriate antimicrobial therapy for patients discharged from the emergency department

  • Supervise and provide support for medication history technicians

  • Precept students and residents
