Job Description
David Weekley Homes is seeking a Design Center Consultant who will provide enthusiastic and professional service to our Customers looking to customize their dream home!
You’ll play a major part in offering design guidance and product knowledge at one of the most crucial steps in the custom home-building process.
Job Responsibilities:
Meet with Home Buyers during their design appointments
Collaborate with internal team members and external customers
Educate the buyer and set realistic expectations regarding the design selection process
Assist Home Buyers in making selections to customize their new home and pricing out options
Enter customer information and selections accurately into software system
Prepare decorator selection packages that include drawing details
Meet vendors to review new product offerings
Coordinate with Builders to confirm correct features, options and upgrades
Create digital design boards for Quick Move-In homes with PowerPoint
Additional tasks as needed, such as preparing reports, maintaining inventory and samples and scheduling appointments
Work Schedule & Location:
Design Center is open Monday-Friday
Required to work until 7:00 pm two nights per month for Preview Nights
Primary work sites are the Lakewood Ranch community in North Sarasota and Parrish, FL
Flexibility to work on-site at the Sarasota Design Center and new home communities in the greater Sarasota area as needed as well as the Tampa Design Center on occasion for training and to provide coverage
Requirements:
Prior design-related sales and/or design experience with a production homebuilder
Possess a keen sense of style and design and be up on the latest interior design trends
Working knowledge of Windows & MS Office Suite- Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Ability to deal with conflict as well as set and re-set expectations
Effective communication, listening, and customer service skills to provide an exceptional experience
Creative problem-solving with the ability to find the root cause, as well as a solution
Demonstrates a sense of urgency and self-discipline in their work and follow up
Operates with a high level of integrity
Must be a team player with an enthusiastic attitude
Organized, with solid time management skills and ability to multitask
Willingness to learn and adapt
