Citigroup SVP, Operational Risk Group Manager - C14 (Hybrid) in Tampa, Florida
The Operational Risk Group Manager's role is to serve as an Independent Operational Resiliency Risk Manager to support oversight and challenge of Citi’s Recovery and Resolution Plans (RRP) and related operational risks to the execution of the plans. The mandate of the Independent Operational Risk Senior Officer's function is to oversee Citi’s Recovery and Resolution Plans identifying operational risks to successfully execute the plans through a review and challenge program following Citi's Independent Assurance framework. The ORM team also provides oversight to RRP development, update, and testing following established business-as-usual oversight models.
The Operational Risk Group Manager services a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in RRP and related fields and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Typically a small number of people within the business provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other risk areas. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Primarily affects a sub-function. Responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project.
Responsibilities:
Takes on a strategic role to review and challenge Citi’s Recovery and Resolution Plans (RRP)
Ensures quality of ORM work product related to RRP
Participates in ORM's oversight responsibilities for Actions Testing and Capabilities validation
Reviews strategy, policy and projects related to RRP
Apply operational risk management guidelines and procedures for identifying First Line of Defense (FLOD) operational risks to executing the RRP's and helps lead efforts to coordinate with ORM's partners
Provides insights to Risk Oversight tools development
Identifies and reports on horizontal ORM Key Indicators and Material Operational Risks related to RRP
Represents ORM on assigned steering groups with Risk and FLOD during all aspects of the RRP lifecycle
Collaborate with ORM and FLOD technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and management regarding all aspects of operational capabilities for RRP
Evaluate, provides advise, and ensures effectiveness of Business and Technology capabilities and controls across Citi Facilitate and disseminate best practices across Tier 1 Material Legal Entities requiring RRP
Serves as a subject matter expert and mentor for the ORM RRP coverage team.
Develops and maintains relationships across the business and all Lines of Defense to better understand and deliver requirements by responding to changes in the business environment
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
10+ years relevant experience of RRP, Business Continuity, Technology Disaster Recovery, Operational Resiliency, Third Party, and/or Risk Management
Direct experience with Financial Operations recovery planning and testing and/or experience with recovery and resolution plans
Skillful understanding of RRP, business continuity, disaster recovery, third party, and operational risk management lifecycle
Thought leadership and clarity in presenting ideas to senior managementProven technical knowledge of RRP principles and processes, to include up to date knowledge of current technology solutions, including Cloud and hybrid third party solutions, and human capital/climate risk
Knowledge of regulatory requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
DRII, BCI, CRISC or related RRP certification preferred
Management:
Mentor to the ORM RRP coverage team and provides constructive feedback on work material
Ability to work effectively with individuals with diverse backgrounds and positions
Ability to work independently
Ability to communicate complex analytical ideas effectively and persuasively
Ability to influence and stablish relationships with key stakeholders from remote locations
