JOB SUMMARY
Leads and directs ERCOT’s activities to implement improved inverter-based resources (IBRs) capabilities and modeling for IBRs pursuant to ERCOT requirements. Leads ERCOT’s activities for implementing Nodal Operating Guide Revision Request (NOGRR) 245, subsequent rulemakings at the PUCT, and additional ERCOT Revision Requests. Provides technical and organizational leadership for a cross functional project team to develop processes to review required submissions, evaluate IBR capability based on ERCOT requirements, and coordinate with other departments. Works with market participants to understand requirements, facilitate submissions, and implementation of modifications or exemptions. Develops and coordinates the exemption approval process for eligible IBRs. Reviews, evaluates, and recommends disposition of requests for extensions and exemptions to executive leadership. Develops Revision Requests and supports in stakeholder process to implement necessary changes.
ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES
Responsible for hiring, coaching, training, and performance management of a professional staff.
Leads ERCOT’s activities to implement improved inverter-based resources (IBRs) capabilities and modeling for IBRs pursuant to ERCOT requirements and rulemakings at the PUCT.
Develops processes and procedures to implement NOGRR 245 and subsequent rulemakings at the PUCT and additional related ERCOT revision requests.
Provides technical and project management for cross functional project team to develop processes to receive submissions, review IBR performance based on ERCOT requirements, and coordinates with other departments.
Works with market participants to understand requirements, facilitate submissions, and implement modifications or exemptions.
Coordinates input and review of market participant submissions by technical subject-matter experts.
Reviews, evaluates and recommends disposition of requests for extensions and exemptions to executive leadership.
Provides support to compliance and regulatory departments related to technical reliability standards for interconnection of generation.
Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers. Requires the ability to gain acceptance from others in complex situations.
May coordinate activities of two or more departments. Provides leadership to supervisors and/or professional staff.
Supports ERCOT activities in regulatory processes.
Develops revision requests and supports in stakeholder process to implement necessary changes.
Provides substantial input to the budgeting process. Responsible for budgetary decisions within functional area according to organizational policy/guidelines. Recommends financial decisions that impact area of responsibility.
EXPERIENCE
- Requires minimum 8 years job related work experience and 2 years in a management or leadership role in excess of degree requirements. Minimum years of job-related experience can include time in leadership roles.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree : Electrical Engineering or related field (Required)
Master's Degree : Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (Preferred)
Or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is required
WORK LOCATION – Taylor, TX:
Employees will be required to be on-site in Taylor, TX at minimum 2 days per week, or more, as needed based on the business needs as determined by management
On-site schedules are flexible or may be rotated based on business needs as determined by the Manager
Remote work is required to be performed from your Texas residence.
Employees may opt to work on-site more than required or 100% of the time

Expected Salary Range:
$144,161 - $260,000
