Overview Are you passionate, energetic, and ready to make an impact? We're looking for three Cultural Instructors to join our Startalk Mandarin Program team! This is a unique opportunity to work in a fun, engaging environment while helping students learn Mandarin Chinese.

Are you passionate about Chinese culture and skilled in teaching traditional hobbies or art forms? We're seeking a Cultural Instructor to bring vibrant, hands-on experiences to our Startalk Mandarin Program students! This is a unique opportunity to share your expertise in dynamic and active cultural activities, such as dance, martial arts, or traditional Chinese pastimes like  (Chinese yo-yo) or  (shuttlecock kicking).

  • Note: We are not seeking instructors for static activities such as calligraphy or painting.

Schedule: July 7-11, 2025 (4 days; one day will be a field trip with no cultural class). 3 hours per day in the afternoon (exact time TBD).

Compensation:

$800 (non-benefit) for the role, which includes: 4 three-hour teaching sessions. And 8 hours of preparation and training.

Responsibilities As a Cultural Instructor, you will,

  • Lead engaging cultural sessions designed to inspire students and enhance their appreciation for Chinese traditions. We're specifically looking for instructors to teach dynamic and interactive cultural activities such as:

  • Traditional Chinese dance.

  • Martial arts.
  • Popular physical hobbies like  (Chinese yo-yo) or  (shuttlecock kicking).

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

  • Be available for the entire training and teaching period.
  • Ability to prepare engaging, interactive lessons suitable for high school students.
  • Have a strong understanding of Chinese culture and its traditional arts. Preferred Qualifications

  • Have prior experience teaching cultural activities to teens. Knowedge Skills and Abilities

  • Are enthusiastic about sharing their passion for Chinese traditions.

  • Can create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and instructional skills.
