Location : Tempe, AZ

We are seeking a CMT Laboratory Technician 2 to join our Tempe, AZ team! Come join us!

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Safety is first and foremost. Abide by Atlas’s health and safety policies and procedures and promote the same to the Arizona Materials Practice Team.

  • Working independently or with a team to proficiently perform thorough testing of materials including: Soil, Aggregate,

  • Concrete, Asphaltic Concrete, and other construction materials.

  • Collect samples of soil, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials from various job sites, when required.

  • Prepare and label samples for testing according to standard procedures.

  • Describe, communicate, and understand results derived from technical testing performed in laboratory.

  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring they are calibrated and functioning properly.

  • Assist teammates with technical advancement within our peer-training program.

  • Prepare detailed reports of findings and communicate results to the Lab Manager or project team.

  • Identify and communicate deficiencies in materials when encountered.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, project specifications, and quality control protocols.

  • Meticulously record data derived from testing performed in laboratory.

  • Communicate with staff and supervisors effectively and professionally.

  • Follow standardized testing methods and procedures accurately and consistently.

  • Participate in internal and external audits as required.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.

Minimum requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid driver’s license, pass MVR Background check.

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite i.e. Word, Outlook, and Excel.

  • Pass a pre-employment Drug Test.

  • 3 or more years of experience in a similar role.

  • Project or personnel management experience is a plus.

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs. at least waste high.

Technical requirements:

  • Professional licensing and certifications in construction materials testing, such as ATTI, ACI, NICET, NRMCA, ICC, or similar.

  • Radiation Safety Certification.

Other miscellaneous qualities:

  • Being involved with industry groups/committees.

  • Proactively advance technical abilities and certifications.
