Job Summary:

The Reporting & Analytics (RSS) Assistant Vice President reports to the Reporting Manager and is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation and filing of various financial and non-financial reports, in compliance with all requirements, company policies and procedures, and generally accepted accounting principles (where appropriate).

The Assistant Vice President will participate in researching impact of new products, regulatory pronouncements and other changes in the report production process. This position will prepare analysis and provide valuable insights to Bank management. This position will also be required to execute controls and research/monitor data to ensure integrity.

Major Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities include the preparation of assigned financial and non-financial reports, potentially including but not limited to, Regulatory reports, Risk reports and other managerial analytics. Conduct investigations of errors and variance analysis independently. Recommend procedural changes to address problems and to ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness of reporting.

Additional responsibilities may include assisting with the research and analysis of reporting requirements, regulatory pronouncements and other accounting documents. Supports continuous enhancement of our internal controls over reporting including robust analytical procedures and detective controls. Responds to internal/external inquiries regarding financial and non-financial data reported or filed. Assists with Finance projects and other Bank wide initiatives. Performs other projects or duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in statistics, operations research, data science, computer science or in a science, technology, engineering, finance, risk management, and economics. Equivalent work experience equally preferable.

  • Ability to understand and corelate complex technical architectures and business processes, and apply to functional day-to-day activities

  • Experience working with very large datasets on reporting platforms (e.g., Tableau, Workiva, Oracle Business Intelligence, Business Objects, etc.)

  • Working knowledge of data warehousing practices (cloud or traditional), and experience in metadata process, data lineage traceability repositories and technologies

  • Good understanding of SAS DATA step process; extraction of data from various data sources, SAS arrays, functions, formats, and Base SAS procedures.

  • Experience in production support environment preferred.

  • Excellent collaborative, written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical and iterative problem-solving skills

  • Ability to self-manage and multitask in a dynamic environment, as well as prioritize and manage deadlines

  • Detail-oriented, proactive and results driven individual with strong organizational skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment to meet tight deadlines, and serve as a trusted advisor to team leadership

  • Effectively leveraging technology to automate and improve processes

  • 4+ years of experience in Risk Reporting

  • 4-6 years of experience in maintaining or supporting large-scale data aggregation warehouse environment

  • 4+ years of experience preferably in a financial institution or other highly regulated environment in data management, risk management role or equivalent or related field

  • 3+ years of ETL and/or Tableau/Power BI programming experience

  • Experience working with technical, customer, and functional teams, and influencing non-technical aspects of technology change (e.g. business and operational architectures)

  • Experience developing, testing and implementing solutions in highly distributed complex business and technology environments preferred

The typical base pay range for this role is between $105K - $134K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
