Jacobs Water Resources / Transportation Drainage Engineering Intern - Summer 2025 in Tempe, Arizona

We are seeking to hire a Water Resources / Transportation Drainage Engineering Intern for the Summer 2025 in our Tempe, AZ. office to support our transportation projects throughout Arizona. Work at this level requires the ability to work in a team, collaborative, and fast paced environment. This internship provides a hands-on learning experience directly related to responsibilities that transfer to skills needed in a future full-time position.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work in a team environment with other project engineers on the detailed hydrologic, hydraulic, and drainage analysis and design of urban and rural transportation related projects.

  • Perform routine aspects of engineering requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles under close supervision.

  • Provide support in the preparation of contract drainage drawings, specifications, and estimates.

  • Performs other duties assigned by the Drainage Group Leader and other team members.

  • Must be a junior or a senior level student pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program

  • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA is required

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel.

  • Coursework and/or in transportation, hydrology and hydraulics, and CAD software is preferred.
