Jacobs Water Resources / Transportation Drainage Engineering Intern - Summer 2025 in Tempe, Arizona
We are seeking to hire a Water Resources / Transportation Drainage Engineering Intern for the Summer 2025 in our Tempe, AZ. office to support our transportation projects throughout Arizona. Work at this level requires the ability to work in a team, collaborative, and fast paced environment. This internship provides a hands-on learning experience directly related to responsibilities that transfer to skills needed in a future full-time position.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Work in a team environment with other project engineers on the detailed hydrologic, hydraulic, and drainage analysis and design of urban and rural transportation related projects.
Perform routine aspects of engineering requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles under close supervision.
Provide support in the preparation of contract drainage drawings, specifications, and estimates.
Performs other duties assigned by the Drainage Group Leader and other team members.
Must be a junior or a senior level student pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
Must have at least a 3.0 GPA is required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
Coursework and/or in transportation, hydrology and hydraulics, and CAD software is preferred.
