DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will focus on performing maintenance and repairs on buildings, machinery, and equipment. You will have the opportunity to assist in manual labor activities and conduct daily building inspections to ensure safety and proper upkeep of county maintenance office properties. Work includes repairing electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire safety systems, as well as making recommendations for any additional work that may be needed. Your role will also involve selecting the appropriate tools and equipment for assigned projects and providing assistance to diesel mechanics during major repairs. Additional responsibilities include constructing building forms for masonry work, painting interiors and exteriors of buildings, and supporting highway maintenance and construction crews by assisting them in completing necessary tasks.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Dual shifts, overtime, and travel may be required. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1; or Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirements: This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

Additional Requirements: You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required): Previous experience performing general maintenance and repair tasks. Previous experience following general safety guidelines. Previous cost estimation experience. Previous experience reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics or diagrams. Previous experience performing carpentry, electrical, and plumbing tasks. Previous experience painting, drywall and plaster tasks. Previous experience installing, repairing. or removing flooring.
