Supervisor of Housekeeping / Environmental Services
Essential Job Duties:
Assist the managers/assistant director with managing second shift staff. Assist with interviewing candidates as needed.
Responsible and supervises the team that completes discharges and the cleaning of an
Assign personnel to established work areas or project duties, including floorcare.
Monitor the bed board during the shift to ensure staff are assigned to zones correctly and are completing discharges on a timely manner.
Assist managers in ensuring that staff receive proper orientation, initial training, and ongoing education.
Provide individual guidance and motivation for staff to enable each person to achieve his/her fullest potential.
Under the general supervision of EVS managers and the Assistant Director, they follow all established EVS and Union health policies and procedures.
Primary contact for EVS staff and other departments during the evening shift. Discuss concerns with EVS managers and or the Assistant Director.
Maintain an environment that is in a sanitary, attractive and orderly condition.
Demonstrate and promote unions’ culture, values, and management philosophy.
Performs miscellaneous related duties as directed or assigned.
Qualifications:
An Undergraduate degree or High School diploma is required. Must have one to three years of supervisory experience in a service-related field with high customer/client contact.
At least one year experience in a similar position or two or more years in a management position with healthcare knowledge
Strong verbal and written skills as well as a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
Be flexible to be scheduled as needed to meet the needs of the department.
Strong service/quality attitude.
The ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and achieve effective time management.
The ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.
Strong public speaking skills.
Sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines; self-directed.
