Job Summary
Join the Oldcastle Building Envelope team as a Remote Technical Support Specialist within the Product and Innovation Technical Support team where you will use your technical knowledge, ensuring excellence in both product and application support. As a key player, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the customer experience, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of technical expertise. The Remote Technical Support Specialist will assist in driving revenue growth and expanding market share through technical support of customer facing facilities. Reporting directly to the Director of Technical Support
, you will provide technical support for internal customers related to code compliance, product performance and product application. You will also guide development of internal reference libraries and training programs to enhance technical knowledge throughout the organization.
Heres What Youll Get To Do
- Ensure product support requests are handled in a timely manner and give an effective resolution of internal customer inquiries, issues and escalations related to glass and metal products. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the Product and Innovation team to address and resolve product-related challenges.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting assistance through application support for internal customers. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, internal customers , and the broader Product and Innovation team to ensure successful application of our products in all environments.
- Track status of technical support requests and report-out through monthly dashboards.
- Identify opportunities for product improvements and request related engineering changes for standard products.
- Provide training and support to internal customers. Evaluate technical requests to identify opportunities to provide resources and training to customer facing facilities and internal customers.
- Represent OBE at industry trade associations (i.e. FGIA, ASTM, NGA, NFRC, etc.).
Heres What Were Looking For
An associate degree in Engineering or related field. Bachelors degree preferred.
5 years experience in product knowledge, product application, project design, manufacturing, engineering and/or application of architectural glass/fenestration products.
Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD, NFRC thermal software, Window Glass Design software and design pressureand structural analysis software strongly preferred.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Must be a proven self-starter requiring minimal supervision, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Critical thinking / using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to opportunities.
- Ability to multitask in a deadline-driven envir nment and shift priorities as needed.
- Highly accountable to self and others, drives closure of tasks, and completes quality work on time.

- Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
