**Galveston County Health District is seeking an Air Pollution Program Manager! This position is responsible for the daily supervision of the Environmental Investigators/Environmental Technician within the Air Pollution Control Services Program.

Required:

  • Bachelors Degree in the basic sciences which include some of the following courses: environmental studies, environmental health, public health, microbiology, chemistry, biology, engineering, physical science and other related courses.
  • Masters Degree with concentration in basic or natural science, a Masters of Public Health, a Master of Sanitary Science or a Master in Environmental Health, preferred but not required.
  • 5+ years of experience in the areas of environmental work related to essential job functions, preferred.
  • 1+ year senior investigator experience/team lead experience.
  • Knowledge of environmental rules, regulations and laws, practices, control techniques, use of environmental monitoring equipment and technical aspects of pollution control.
  • HAZWOPER Certification must be obtained within one (1) year of employment and renewed annually.

Ability for spur of the moment transportation without relying on organization vehicles.

Must possess or ability to readily obtain a valid drivers license issued by the State of Texas for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

Department of Motor Vehicle check may be required, if applicable.

Customer Service Oriented.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent Computer Skills MS Office.

Must be willing and able to work evening and weekend hours if necessary.

Must be in compliance with GCHD Immunizations policy.
